Jawai and Bera is also known for the presence of a most conventional and old community of shepherds in Jawai Leopard Reserve known as "Rabari"(Men's overhead red turban, wearing customary dress along with leather crafted shoes and carrying a long heavy stick to control their livestock while grazing in the surroundings of Jawai Bandh).
Rabaris are the honest guards of Jawai Leopard Reserve who make sure the presence of Leopards in a safe atmosphere and even other local communities honored these Rabaris by calling them as Gems of Jawai, Rajasthan.
Jawai Safaris gives an opportunity to spent few hours with Rabaris while they are in the peak time of their duty hours. In this activity "Walk with Rabaris" you will come to know why they are called Gems of Jawai and why they protect Leopards in Jawai and Bera, however they are the only people who are most affected by the leopard attacks on their livestock which directly impact their source of income.
